The Bolton News Education Awards are back for 2024
The Bolton News, in association with Bolton Council, is delighted to announce the return of the Education Awards for 2024.
Regional Editor North West
Richard started his career in journalism in 2017 at EssexLive where he was a reporter and then News Editor. During his time at EssexLive, he was shortlisted for Young Journalist of the Year and Digital Live News Reporter of the Year at the Regional Press Awards for his coverage of the murder of John Pordage. In 2019, Richard became Courts Editor for MyLondon before taking the helm at SurreyLive and HampshireLive as Acting Editor in January 2020 covering maternity leave. In January 2021, he became Editor of BedfordshireLive, CambridgeshireLive, EssexLive, HertsLive and PeterboroughLive. The following year, Richard was appointed Regional Editor for Lancashire and Greater Manchester and oversaw five titles; The Bolton News, Lancashire Telegraph, The Oldham Times, Bury Times and The Messenger. In January 2023, he took on an expanded role as Regional Editor North West, overseeing titles in Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside.
