JOHN Fisher & Thomas More RC High pupils and their parents have been asked not to air online their concerns about the school.

Headteacher Clare Hayes said that Facebook and Twitter were being used to discuss concerns and teachers were named.

Mrs Hayes said in a letter: “We have become aware that certain concerns about the school are being openly shared and discussed publicly on social-media sites, such as Facebook and Twitter, including naming staff at the school.

“This is not the ideal way to discuss any concerns or worries that you may have with the school and I would very much appreciate your support in trying to ensure that this does not happen in the future.

“We will always work with you to try to resolve any issues or concerns that you may have but we can only do this properly if these concerns and/or complaints are aired in the appropriate way by contacting the school by phone or email.

“Using social media often clouds an issue rather than solving it.

“I hope this letter has helped to clarify a way forward for dealing with any questions or concerns that you may have in the future.”
