LANCASHIRE'S police and crime commissioner has visited Blackburn Youth Zone to chat to youngsters about their priorities for the police.

Clive Grunshaw met with the group of 10 teenagers as part of his Let's Talk Policing roadshows, which are taking place throughout Lancashire over the summer.

Mr Gunshaw said: "It was really interesting to talk to the young people. They had very interesting views and comments about policing and crime, which were all noted.

"Some of the concerns they raised included issues around taxi regulations, police officer numbers and legal highs.

"I think its really important I take young people's opinions into account when I'm considering my police and crime plan as they often come into contact with officers and policing really is everyone's business."

Mr Gunshaw said he was very pleased with how the teenagers responded to the chat, wishing to meet regularly with him and other officers so they can continue to share their views on policing.

Other roadshows will take place in supermarkets, shopping centres over the coming months where members of the public can bring ideas forward.

Mr Gunshaw said: "At the end of Let's Talk Policing events, all of the information will go together as part of a review of my police and crime plan, which is due to be presented to the Police and Crime Panel in October."

Lancashire residents are also encouraged to share their views by filling out a survey which is due to be made on the police and crime commissioner's website and will be promoted through Facebook and Twitter.
