A WOMAN who had sex with vulnerable elderly men conned them out of more than £44,000, a court heard.

Heroin addict Rebecca Ceesay was jailed for two years at Bolton Crown Court after admitting two counts of fraud.

Timothy Greenald, prosecuting, told how, over two years starting in 2013, Ceesay, a 35-year-old mother-of five, got to know two men, one in his late 60s and the other in his early 70s.

The first younger man had cancer and Ceesay visited him frequently for consensual sexual encounters, with her taking large amounts of cash from him.

The court heard he lost £40,000 to her and was left with just £2,000 from a legacy he had been given and cash he had borrowed.

Mr Greenald said the second victim lived alone and was helped by carers.

Ceesay would also visit him, sometimes engaging in sexual activity, and each time would ask for £40 to pay for a taxi which she told him she would repay.

In total she paid back just £40 out of £4,000 she took, leaving him so short of cash he relied on borrowing from friends or gifts from carers.

Mr Greenald added that Ceesay had previous convictions for stealing from the elderly, including an 85-year-old man whom she confronted outside a pub, searching his pockets to steal £80.

"She is targeting victims on the basis of their vulnerability," said Mr Greenald.

Virginia Hayton, defending Ceesay, said she had committed the offences in order to obtain money to feed her heroin addiction.

"She is deeply ashamed as to what she has reduced herself to — prostituting herself and allowing men much older than her to touch her," said Miss Hayton.

Sentencing Ceesay, Judge Peter Davies told her: "You sought out these men who were living on their own.

"That enabled you to obtain and extract money from them. These are very serious offences."
