A 28-YEAR-OLD man who blamed his offending on drug problems asked magistrates to lock him up so he could get clean.
Blackburn magistrates heard Scott Thackaray stole to fund his habit and eventually committed an act of criminal damage to a door at the Probation Service out of sheer frustration.

Thackaray, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to two offences of stealing sunglasses from Specsavers in the town, stealing razor gift sets from Boots and damaging a door.
He was jailed for four weeks and ordered to pay an £80 victim surcharge and £180 criminal court charge.
Aftab Bakhat, defending, said his client realised he faced custody and instructed him not to resist that.
