A RURAL road was closed after a six-car smash this morning.
The A671 between Burnley and Bacup was shut off by the emergency services following the incident, shortly before 8am.

The police were called to the scene after receiving reports of a red Volkswagen Polo in the middle of the road.
A woman has been taken to Burnley General Hospital with injuries that have been describe by the ambulance service as ‘not major trauma’.
The other cars involved in the collision, which happened near the Deerplay Inn, were a silver Toyota Yaris, a silver Peugeot Partner, a blue Renault Cleo and a white Vauxhall Vivaro.
A sixth car slid and crashed as officers arrived at the scene.
