POLICE have seized 200 cannabis plants from an address in Accrington.

The plants were seized from a rented property on Second Avenue this morning by the Church and Milnshaw team after they were made aware by the landlord of the property.

The cannabis production was discovered in the loft of a semi-detached property, police said.

A police spokesman said: "We were first notified about this at 11.10am this morning.

"It was a cannabis production in a rented semi-detached property which was used to set up a production where they were growing cannabis plants in a loft space.

"It believe it was sometime between 9am on February 1 and 11am on May 4.

"Two-hundred plants were seized as well as a large amount of electrical equipment.

"We have not arrested anybody at this stage.

"Our investigations are ongoing."
