A tribute has been paid to the 'caring, loving and remarkable' Nicola Haworth who's body was found in Burnley on Friday morning.

After police identified the 33-year-old, her brother Robert described her as 'a fantastic mummy, sister and auntie'.

Detectives released a picture of the deceased, found at her home in Wilton Street, and repeated their appeal for witnesses.

She died from restriction of her breathing.

They confirmed that Ms Haworth's nine-month-old baby daughter, found at the house, was unharmed and now in a place of safety.

Police said the 34-year-old man from Burnley, arrested on suspicion of murder, had been detained under the Mental Health Act in a secure unit.

He had originally been arrested at 9am yesterday after behaving suspiciously on nearby Holmby Street while in possession of a knife.

He was re-arrested on suspicion of murder after officers visited Ms Haworth's home in Wilton Street and found her dead with her daughter nearby.

Mr Haworth said this afternoon: "My sister was a beautiful woman who was a caring, loving, remarkable person.

"She was a fantastic mummy, sister and aunty.

"Life will never be the same for me or my beautiful niece.

"We will always remember you Nicola Joanne. You are now back with mum and dad and always know I loved you."

A police spokeswoman said: "Detectives are continuing their investigation following the death of a woman in Burnley.
