UK garage legend Craig David has been announced as a headliner for an East Lancashire festival which takes place later this year.

The singer, songwriter, DJ and producer will be performing at Burnley’s Wile Out Festival which kicks off on Friday, July 9.

Craig will be performing as Friday’s headliner, bringing his critically acclaimed TS5 show to Towneley Park.

The Walking Away, Rewind and 7 Days singer rose to fame in the late 90s and early noughties and is widely recognised as a pioneer of the UK garage scene.

He has had 16 UK top 10 songs, two of which, 7 Days and Fill Me In, were number ones. After years in the wilderness, he made a comeback in 2015 following appearances in Radio 1's Live Lounge and on a Kurupt FM takeover of 1Xtra.

Since Craig was announced as a headliner, dozens of people have taken to social media to express their excitement.

One person said: “Love Craig David, can't wait.”

“I’m there,” said another.

A third said: “He’s coming to Burnley!”

Craig is joining a vast line-up of international DJ talent from the worlds of house, tech-house, bass, and drum & bass.

Sub Focus, Kurupt FM, Wilkinson, Sammy Virji, Friction, Katy B, Jax Jones, Biscits, Secondcity, Wookie, Kele Ke Roc, Sweet Female Attitude and many more artists have also been confirmed.

The main stage this year is another awesome mix of vibrant sounds perfect for some fun in the sun.

Craig David Presents TS5 is sure to be an irresistible garage show, with garage crew Kurupt FM - who shot to fame through BBC mockumentary People Just Do Nothing - bringing more contemporary sounds next to chart topper Katy B who brings her always emotive dance sounds.

Nathan Dawe, Arielle Free, Punctual and Emily Nash close out this stage.

Hosting the second is Foreverland, who are known around the UK for their no expense spared production and fantastically immersive party themes.

They one up house talents who have changed the game in recent times such as the mighty Jax Jones, plus Biscits, Dombresky, Secondcity, Saffron Stone, Kayley Harriet, Royal Hustle and Conr.

The third stage is taken care of in fine style by renowned bass promotion Worried About Henry who hold of events all round the country and know how to throw a party.

They bring the best in drum & bass with a DJ set from Sub Focus and MC ID, a DJ set from Wilkinson with MC AD-APT, plus more from Friction, bass innovator Sammy Virji, plus Notion, Unglued, Lens and Oppidan.

All new for this year is an exclusive VIP area which will host its very own stage with the ever popular Garage Nation brand at the helm.

Legends and mainstays of the scene like Wookie, Wideboys, Kele Le Roc, Sunshine, Monster Boy Ft Denzel and many more will all bring the sounds.

As well as the music, it offers a considered collection of food, drink and gin and cocktail bars offering a wide range of mouthwatering treats to keep you fueled and the good times flowing. On top of that, you can expect immersive production and world class sound systems to really take every set to the next level.
