A SHOPLIFTING couple were stopped as they left a store with over £200 worth of clothing.
Blackburn magistrates heard Liananminerva Dragan and her partner had been spotted removing security tags before trying to leave the shop.
Dragan, 31, of Walter Street, Brierfield, pleaded guilty to theft of a Tommy Hilfiger jacket and adidas trainers worth £210 from Boundary Mill. She was made subject to a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £22 victim surcharge.
Zabair Afzal, defending, said his client’s former partner had returned to Romania and she had no further contact with him.
“She is genuinely remorseful and through me apologises to the court,”
said Mr Afzal. “She has learned her lesson and is now a law-abiding citizen.”
