Police have eliminated one man from their enquiries into an assault in Rishton which left a man with serious head injuries.
The assault happened in George Street, Rishton, near to the Roebuck pub, in the early hours of Saturday, June 17.
A 28-year-old man was injured and remains in a poorly condition in hospital.
As part of the investigation, a 35-year-old man was arrested and questioned, but he has now been eliminated from the investigation.
A 38-year-old man who was arrested on Monday on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent remains in custody.
Witnesses or anyone with footage are asked to contact 101, quoting log 0573 of June 17.
