A Blackburn family has spent weeks decorating their home for Halloween this year – and it looks ghoulishly good three weeks ahead of the big day.

The garden of the property, in Lamlash Road, has been covered with scary decorations and even has a smoke machine, light display and creepy music playing throughout the day.

This year they will be accepting donations on behalf of Blackburn charity, Secret Santa, from people who come along to see it.

“The display has taken two weeks to set up so far and I still have some to go out.

“We also do this for our daughters. My daughter has autism and she loves Halloween and all the flashing lights.”

Kenneth said: “The display has taken two weeks to set up so far and I still have some to go out.

“I turn the lights off at night for my neighbours as we have lights that flash in the garden.

“There are be Halloween songs and Halloween theme tunes that play at night and also a smoke machine.”

Kenneth said: “We started doing it in Covid and to put a smile on childrens’ faces. The family loved it so much which is why we have decided to do it every year.

“People walk past and say they like it so much. Last year we even had people come from out of town to see it, saying it is the best Halloween garden they’ve ever seen.

“It’s nice to make people’s day.”

On October 31, Kenneth and his family will be handing out sweets to children and the 12 best dressed will be given a special gift.

From now until Halloween, a donation bucket is under the family’s CCTV camera and they are also accepting donations of sweets, which they will give out on Halloween.

All money raised will be donated to Secret Santa, a charity which helps disadvantaged and children across  Blackburn with Darwen.
