A couple who have claimed a £61million jackpot prize on the EuroMillions initially thought they had won just £2.60.

But it transpired Richard and Debbie Nuttall, both 54, had scooped £61,708,231, with the National Lottery presenting them at a press event at Mitton Hall Hotel in the Ribble Valley today.

Their first purchases since the win have been new clubs for keen golfer Richard, a £300 hairdryer and 1,200 thread-count cotton luxury bedding.

Richard has also brought a brand-new BMW X5, which was selected for its extra-large boot, big enough to transport his golf clubs.

Now, The Lancashire Telegraph has listed the top five properties in East Lancashire the couple can buy with their winnings - and still have plenty of change.

The couple, who have three daughters and two granddaughters, were enjoying a week-long holiday in Fuerteventura, celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary, when they discovered the news.

They could not claim the prize until they were back in the UK, so booked a flight home for the next day.

Congratulations to the pair, wherever they end up living!
