Fans of Kate Bush will be ‘running up that hill’ in July as an event dubbed "The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever" returns to a Lancashire park.

Last year’s event, which raises money for two important charities, saw around 200 people, all in red dresses, re-enacting the dance to one of Kate Bush’s most famous songs, in the centre of Preston’s Avenham Park.

And on Sunday, July 21, organisers are bringing The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever back to the city, where they will try and attract as many people as possible, en-masse, to dance to Wuthering Heights, just as Kate Bush did in her music video from 1978.

One of the organisers said: “Last year we saw approximately 200 people dancing and this year we have already had 200 people sign up and are hoping to really grow this event as much as possible. The event in Folkstone last year saw more than 800 dancers.

“We are again raising money for Lancashire Mind and Preston Domestic Violence Service and want to try and raise as much as we can.

“We want to spread the word as much as possible to allow people to find out about it and sign up.”

The event will take place between 11am and 12pm and is free to attend but organisers are encouraging those who wish to take part to donate £5 via the Eventbrite listing.

Anyone wishing to participate will be welcomed around 10.30am, and will then be led through some warm-up stretches before some time is given over to practice the moves in sections. This will then be followed by one full practice run through of dance before a final full run through, ending with some freestyle.
