Q. Is it true that left-handed people tend to die before right-handed people?
A. No it isn’t. This was a suggestion made after a 1992 survey, which found more lefties among the younger than among the older generations. This was probably because when the older generation was young, many natural lefties were forced into using their right hands, and so changed their handedness. Now we don’t do that to children, left-handers are just as common among older people as right-handers. So it was just a statistical error brought on by bad educational practices.
