You wouldn’t find them knitting at the Nou Camp or a how about a ball hitting a sheep at Lords – but that is why I love amateur sport so much.

I’ve just returned from two weeks holiday and was presented with these two cracking photos from our snappers out and about in East Lancashire.

A spectator got the knitting needles out during the Lancashire Telegraph Lancashire League Second XI Cup final at the weekend.

It had nothing to do with the action between East Lancs against Rambsbottom which was a great final. But if you get knit and watch then why not.

And at a recent pre-season game at Hurst Green, a wayward shot hit a sheep in a nearby field.

The Premier League may boast some of the best footballers on the planet in the best league but ‘ewe’ wouldn’t see these types of photographs too often, would you!
