From the beginning against West Brom the line-up looked strange with the manager starting with Lukas Jutkiewicz up front on his own.

I know from experience that it’s hard enough up front, but when you’re on your own it’s really tough.

It’s going to be a long winter after this performance. Sean Dyche has to start working miracles and I’m sure the fans will get restless.

The big question is when are the goals going to come?

At the moment it doesn’t seem likely as the chances are not being created. The league table doesn’t lie and I sincerely hope we can start getting the results the fans want.

We have never looked dangerous up front in this Premier League season and I can’t help saying I wish Sam Vokes and Danny Ings were fit, maybe we would look dangerous.

In the first 10 minutes on Sunday we got to grips with the game and showed we were up for it, the back four were excellent in that period but then it all went wrong.

A goal for Albion after 30 minutes and I have to blame the skipper Jason Shackell. He should have made it his ball from a corner kick but he allowed Craig Dawson, who we tried to sign in the summer, to outjump him for the goal. For me it was bad defending.

After 35 minutes we had not created one chance, the final ball into the box was woeful and I’m sure Juke was wishing he had someone like Ings beside him.

With 45 minute gone we were two down. A well worked corner and another header, this time from Saido Berahino. Again I thought it was poor defending after all the clean sheets in the previous games.

Steven Reid and Ross Wallace got subbed at half time, Nathaniel Chalobah came on to make his debut and Ashley Barnes came on beside the Juke. But we still didn’t seem to make any headway against a determined West Brom.

Saying that the Juke pulled a great save from Ben Foster at about 65 minutes and it was the only chance we really had.

He came off almost immediately and Marvin Sordell took his place.

Fifty years ago I played against West Brom at The Hawthorns on the same day and we won 2-1 and I played my part by scoring both goals.

I was hoping we would get a win at The Hawthorns, but we had a very disappointing display.
