CORRY Evans is expected to come into contention for Blackburn Rovers’ home clash against Birmingham City – as Jason Lowe gets set to make his long-awaited return.

Evans has missed the two last matches with an ankle injury but he is in line to return to the squad for tomorrow’s Ewood Park encounter after coming through training this morning.

Rovers boss Paul Lambert said: “Corry Evans trained this morning so hopefully he’ll be okay.”

There is also positive news about Lowe, who has been sidelined since August with a long-standing foot problem, and fellow long-term absentees Danny Guthrie (hamstring) and Nathan Delfouneso (knee).

The trio are pencilled in to play some part of next Monday’s Under-21 Premier League Division Two match against Fulham, which will now take place at Rovers’ Academy base in Brockhall and kick-off at 12.30pm.

Lambert, who confirmed Lee Williamson is still laid low by a groin injury, said: “The three of them are back training and there’s a game next Monday in which we’ll try and get them involved.”
