ENGLAND boss Roy Hodgson looks set to call up Burnley captain Tom Heaton into his squad for next week's friendly double-header after Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart suffered injury in his side's defeat to Manchester United on Sunday.
Heaton has been a regular in England squads since earning his first call last May although the Turf More stopper has yet to win his first cap.
But the 29-year-old Clarets captain was initially left out by Hodgson when he named his squad on Thursday. The England boss instead went with Stoke City's Jack Butland and the fit-again Southampton stopper Fraser Forster as back-up for number one Hart.
However Hart's injury is set to open the door for Heaton for the friendlies with Germany on Saturday and at home to Holland on Tuesday week.
