NIAMH Robinson and Ben Martin compete in the British Championships this week with short and long term targets.

The Pioneer 79 pair will be competing with the cream of the crop of at Tollcross International Swimming Centre, Glasgow in a competition that also doubles up as trials for the Rio Olympics.

But 16-year-old Robinson, who competed in the Commonwealth Games in the same city in 2014, and Martin, 15, will also have their sights on qualifying for the European Junior Championships that will be held in Hungary in June.

While the Pioneer swimmers will be doing their best to get to Rio and Hungary, the talented duo will also be attempting to gain a place in the ‘Target Tokyo Final’ which identifies swimmers with the potential to compete at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

"We wish both Niamh Robinson and Ben Martin the very best of luck and I’m sure many of our club members will be following their every move," said coach Mike Wilson.
