BURNLEY could face a battle to hold on to both of their first choice centre-backs this summer with West Bromwich Albion keeping an eye on Ben Mee.

While the Clarets have already rejected a bid from Leicester City for Michael Keane, the form and versatility of Mee has also attracted Premier League interest.

Mee was voted the players' player of the year at Turf Moor after his form last season, with his move from left-back to the heart of the defence coinciding with Burnley's 23 game unbeaten league run.

His ability play central defence and at full-back appeals to Albion and their boss Tony Pulis, who is targeting defensive additions to his squad.

While Mee is not thought to be top of their shopping list, the 26-year-old has just 12 months remaining on his contract, something which could give the Baggies hope of securing a deal, although Burnley are likely to be determined to tie him down to a new contract at Turf Moor when he returns from a holiday ahead of reporting for pre-season training a week on Monday (July 4).

The Lancashire Telegraph understands that Premier League champions Leicester have not yet submitted a new bid for Keane, after their offer in the region of £15million, which could include add-ons, was rejected earlier in the week.
